Route Map368 viewsStart from Remarkables carpark, up Shadow Basin, then head veer left off the track that goes to the Shadow Basin lookout onto the start of Queens Drive. A very careful walk across the western side of The Remarkables with a couple of side trips up some minor peaks, then around into Wye Basin and up over Wye Saddle and down past Lake Alta back to the carpark.

Trip route286 viewsStart from the Bush Creek Trail and head up the Sawpit Gully Walk. Turn left at the saddle towards Hayes Creek and head straight up the ridge.

Route Map274 viewsThe walk to Shadow Basin Lookout is very easy in summer and takes about 30-45 mins up the access trail to the top of the Shadow Basin chairlift and then there is a rough trail heading to the lookout. The walk down was along the Shadow Basin ridge and back onto the main trail.

Ben Lomond Route Map 230 viewsStart at Fernhill and follow a track up to the south ridge. Once on the ridge, it's an easy walk to the summit of Ben Lomond, with the advantage you are unlikely to come across anyone else walking the same route.

From the summit, follow the usual track down to Ben Lomond Saddle and the track back to One Mile.

Route Map225 viewsStart from Coalpit Saddle and follow the old water race. At the point where the single track joins the water race, keep on the same contour. The water race from this point is a little overgrown in place, but relatively easy to follow up to Racemans Hut. From there its straight up to Mt Salamond and then onto the 4wd track, turning off onto the single track back down to the water race and back to Coalpit Saddle.

Route Map224 viewsStarted the walk from Arthurs Point at the entrance to the Moonlight Track. This follows the trail up the Shotover River and Moonlight Creek, before heading uphill just before Seffertown. It's then a gentle but steady climb to Ben Lomond Saddle (1316m), with the option of either climbing Ben Lomond or Bowen Peak. Then it's all downhill to Queenstown. Total ascent is just over 1000m and total descent is about 1200m.

Lennox Pass Route209 viewsStart from Kea Basin track and head off towards Lennox stream above the falls. From there a climb up to Lennox Pass (1700m) and a steep 700m decent to Earnslaw Burn to campsite. Next day, head downstream until the first river on the left in the beech forest and head up to the ridge and traverse along to below Lovers Leap and finish at the Earnslaw Burn bridge.

Glacier Burn Route Description195 viewsThe walk starts from the Glenorchy/Kinloch road. The track heads up through beautiful beech forest until it opens up at around 800m. From here, you can head up the open valley up to the cascades which are around 1500m.

Mt Dewar/Atleys Trail Map188 viewsSteep climb from Skippers Saddle to the top of Mt Dewar and then a long drop down an old trail to Atleys Terrace just above the Shotover River. From there, it's a single track back to the Skippers Road and 6km climb back up to Skippers Saddle.

Track Route188 viewsStarts at the Moke Lake camping area and heading around the lake in an anti-clockwise direction. A diversion to Lake Dispute is on gentle rolling single track, then is a steep drop on a 4wd road for the last kilometre or so.
Return up the trail to rejoin Lake Moke and complete the circuit.

Total trip is about 13km.

Route map187 viewsWalk starts at the end of the Macetown road at Anderson's Battery. A single track follows up Rich Burn to Homeward Bound Battery. The track from Homeward Bound to Premier Battery is a little vague in places. Around 250m vertical and a very leisurely round trip time of about 3 hours (including time to explore the historic remains)

Topo Map Route170 viewsStart from Remarkables carpark and head up to Wye Saddle East (unofficial name). Head down to a small tarn just below the ridgeline between Wye and Doolans Valley. Follow the ridgeline keeping mostly to the eastern sides. When approaching the highest peak, traverse over to the gentle sloping hill on the edge of the drop off into the Wye Valley. Head back up the valley and return over the same pass.

Bill Hill Route Description168 viewsFrom the Arrowtown Chinese Village, head up Bush Creek and on to the Sawpit Gully Trail. Veer to the left near German Hill t and follow the old water race that traverses the hill and crosses two remnant Beech gullies. The track comes out onto a saddle where you take a right and climb another 100m to the top of Big Hill.

Head across Big Hill to the east and drop steeply down into a small sheltered valley where Shamrock Mine Cottage is located. Then follow a small track down Hayes Creek where it meets the Arrow River. Cross the river and head up onto the 4wd track and back to Arrowtown.

Queens Drive Route166 viewsStarting from Remarkables carpark, head up Shadow Basin. From the top , head up the track that goes up to the lookout point, and take the left branch This takes you up and over onto the western face of the Remarkables.
From here, there is a goat track that mostly hugs the cliffs until it opens out on a large open rockfall under Single Cone. From here, there is a worthwhile side trip up to a small peak with a large rectangular tor. Then loop back via Wye tarns and over Wye Saddle and back to the carpark.

Follow the northern face around to the saddle below Ben Cruachan. Then head down the Doolans River to a set of two tarns.

Map of the Course120 viewsThe course starts at Paradise and does a loop though the beech forest before coming back and heading out onto the road past Diamond Lake. This is a very fast part of the course. The Cruisers then continue along the road, while the others head the the base of Mt Alfred and start the 400m climb.
The descent is quite steep and with a bit of rain, can be quite slippery. The course then joins onto the main road that goes out to Routeburn. It goes back to a single track and follows the base of Mt Alfred.

Crown Range Route116 viewsStarting from Crown Range road summit, head up the ridge to the trig point on Mt Scott. Then follow the trail along the ridge line until you meet a 4WD track and the rocks on Crown Peak.
The decent is on the 4WD track to Brackens Saddle and back to Glencoe Road on the Miners Trail.
