Route Map368 viewsStart from Remarkables carpark, up Shadow Basin, then head veer left off the track that goes to the Shadow Basin lookout onto the start of Queens Drive. A very careful walk across the western side of The Remarkables with a couple of side trips up some minor peaks, then around into Wye Basin and up over Wye Saddle and down past Lake Alta back to the carpark.

Trip route287 viewsStart from the Bush Creek Trail and head up the Sawpit Gully Walk. Turn left at the saddle towards Hayes Creek and head straight up the ridge.
shadown-basin-map.jpg
Route Map274 viewsThe walk to Shadow Basin Lookout is very easy in summer and takes about 30-45 mins up the access trail to the top of the Shadow Basin chairlift and then there is a rough trail heading to the lookout. The walk down was along the Shadow Basin ridge and back onto the main trail.

benlomond-20100104.jpg
Ben Lomond Route Map 230 viewsStart at Fernhill and follow a track up to the south ridge. Once on the ridge, it's an easy walk to the summit of Ben Lomond, with the advantage you are unlikely to come across anyone else walking the same route.

From the summit, follow the usual track down to Ben Lomond Saddle and the track back to One Mile.

doolans-map-20121210.jpg
Route Map225 viewsStart from Coalpit Saddle and follow the old water race. At the point where the single track joins the water race, keep on the same contour. The water race from this point is a little overgrown in place, but relatively easy to follow up to Racemans Hut. From there its straight up to Mt Salamond and then onto the 4wd track, turning off onto the single track back down to the water race and back to Coalpit Saddle.

Route Map225 viewsStarted the walk from Arthurs Point at the entrance to the Moonlight Track. This follows the trail up the Shotover River and Moonlight Creek, before heading uphill just before Seffertown. It's then a gentle but steady climb to Ben Lomond Saddle (1316m), with the option of either climbing Ben Lomond or Bowen Peak. Then it's all downhill to Queenstown. Total ascent is just over 1000m and total descent is about 1200m.

Topo Map Route170 viewsStart from Remarkables carpark and head up to Wye Saddle East (unofficial name). Head down to a small tarn just below the ridgeline between Wye and Doolans Valley. Follow the ridgeline keeping mostly to the eastern sides. When approaching the highest peak, traverse over to the gentle sloping hill on the edge of the drop off into the Wye Valley. Head back up the valley and return over the same pass.

Bill Hill Route Description168 viewsFrom the Arrowtown Chinese Village, head up Bush Creek and on to the Sawpit Gully Trail. Veer to the left near German Hill t and follow the old water race that traverses the hill and crosses two remnant Beech gullies.
